For beginners, training can be overwhelming at times. At some point we’ve all had that moment where you’ve felt like you don’t know where to start or how to do something correctly. Even for the more experienced athletes, they can reach plateaus and become frustrated in slowed progress. The main question, is it worth it to hire a coach? My answer is yes, and here are the top reasons why.
Accountability is probably the main reason to hire a coach. If you have invested your hard earned money into a coach, you are more likely to show up for sessions. Your coach will hold you accountable and remind you of your goals, while keeping you on task.
A coach can provide a program for your specific goals. Having a plan and understanding why you are doing certain things is important. The main goal is for you to not only achieve your goals but also learn. This allows you to be more self sufficient in the future. Furthermore, following a well structured program will help you progress faster and break plateaus.
- Hands on Coaching
Having a coach by your side providing positive feedback while you train is a necessity. A coach will teach you how to perform movements correctly and avoid injuries. Knowing someone is by your side gives you more confidence to push past your limits and get that extra rep or increase weight.
Building a relationship with your coach becomes very resourceful. Any questions about your wellness can be answered by a qualified individual. Even if your coach does not know the answer, usually they have connections to refer out! A coach and client relationship becomes a lifelong thing once you find the right fit for your needs and becomes very beneficial in the long run!
Everyone’s main concern is the price of training. I always tell individuals would it cost more to learn the correct way to do things or have medical bills by getting injured. Furthermore, find a price point that works for you and do your homework on who’s the best for that price.
